Why One-Size-Fits-All Diets Don’t Work for Your Metabolism (And What to Do Instead) – Understanding Your Metabolic Type

Did you know your body needs a different metabolism type of diet based on your body's need?

It’s true—and it could be the missing piece if you've tried all the "healthy" things but still feel tired, foggy, inflamed, or like your body is working against you.

The truth is, how your body processes and uses food is deeply personal. If you have a fast metabolism, your body burns through fuel quickly—so adding more healthy fats can help ground your system and keep your blood sugar steady. Think avocado, ghee, fatty fish, olives, and coconut oil. These help slow things down, stabilize energy, and support hormone production.

On the other hand, if you have a slower metabolism, it doesn’t mean your body is broken. It simply means your system is in energy-conservation mode. What your body really needs is a gentle nudge to pick up the pace—and the right carbohydrates can make all the difference.

Does your body need more carb or fats?

But I’m not talking about donuts or white bread.

I mean high-quality, nutrient-dense carbs that support energy production without spiking your blood sugar or triggering inflammation. These are the carbs that fuel your body properly:

  • 🥦 Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage—loaded with fiber and supportive for liver detox.

  • 🥕 Root vegetables like sweet potatoes, beets, and carrots—earthy, grounding, and rich in minerals.

  • 🍎 Fruits like berries, apples, and pears—nature’s candy, packed with antioxidants and fiber.

  • 🌾 Whole grains (if tolerated)—quinoa, oats, or wild rice provide excellent slow-burn energy sources.

These carbohydrates provide the glucose your cells need to wake up your metabolism, support your thyroid, and fuel your brain and mood.

You see, it’s not about the latest low-carb or high-fat trend. It’s about eating in a way that matches your body’s biology.

Here’s the catch.

Most of us aren’t taught how to figure out what our metabolism type really are. We’re just guessing. Do you still go by "feeling" to choose your food? Maybe you grabbed a green juice because you "felt bloated," or skipped a meal because some influencer said fasting was magical.

Listen—I say this with love—but eating based on vibes (or that Reel you saw while scrolling on a Monday morning 😅) isn’t the way to go. It’s time to eat smarter. It’s time to eat based on science—not just what you think you should do.

Do you rely on social media for your health and wellness?

That’s where HTMA testing (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) comes in. It’s one of my favorite tools because it reveals so much about your unique metabolic type. By analyzing the minerals and heavy metals in your hair, we can see whether your metabolism is fast or slow, how your adrenals are functioning, and what kind of fuel your body needs to thrive.

Imagine no more guessing—just clarity, direction, and the right foods to support your energy, mood, hormones, and overall vitality.
